OVERVIEW: The Mountaineers are missing five regulars from a year ago but return a hard-hitting trio in senior OF Justin Jenkins (.375-10-49), sophomore OF Adam White (.368-1-27) and junior SS Tyler Kuhn (.365-3-50). The pitching staff is more intact as two starters, junior LHPs Matt Yurish (6-3, 3.84) and Kenny Durst (5-4, 4.39), return along with closer Levi Maxwell (1-1, 4.36).
TOP PROSPECT/JUNIOR: Tyler Kuhn, ss. A second baseman his first two years at WVU, Kuhn began his transition across the bag last summer when he led the Valley League in batting at .374. He’s a scrappy, line-drive hitter who probably will end up back at second base in pro ball because his range and arm strength are better suited there.
TOP FRESHMAN: Vince Belnome, 3b. TOP SOPHOMORE: Adam White, of. TOP SENIOR: Justin Jenkins, of.
