Senior C Jonathan Batts (.319-12-56), junior 2B Daniel Hargrave (.360-12-43) and junior OF Jason Appel (.330-3-27) will be the offensive leaders while sophomore RHP Brad Holt (3-3, 3.48) moves into the No.1 spot in the rotation.
TOP PROSPECT/SENIOR: Jonathan Batts, c-1b. Batts shared the catching job with fifth-round pick Chris Hatcher (.348-7-55) a year ago and will share the job with junior Mark Carver (.270-4-24) this year. He will play first when not catching. A 49th-round pick of the Giants last year, Batts is an above-average hitter with improving defensive skills.
